Who We Are 

The Amantes de Teruel Foundation is a non-profit institution established in 1998 with the purpose of preserving and promoting the traditions centered around the love story of Isabel de Segura and Diego de Marcilla. 

The foundation has several founding purposes: 

1. To promote and develop everything related to the tradition of the « Amantes de Teruel. » 

1. To manage, conserve, and administer the assets assigned to the Foundation. 

1. Carry out cultural dissemination to provide the residents of the city of Teruel and its visitors with knowledge of the traditions of the Amantes de Teruel, as well as their artistic manifestations, especially the Mudejar style, characteristic of the city. 

Currently, the Foundation works around three fundamental axes: Tourism, Culture and Documentation, and Educational Cabinet, developing activities aimed at achieving the stated objectives.

Board of Trustees

Article 10, section 2 of the Foundation’s Statutes: Composition of the Board of Trustees: 

1. The trustees may be of two types: ex officio and honorary.
2. The following persons hold the position of ex officio trustees by virtue of their office:
   1. The Bishop of Teruel and Albarracín
   2. The Mayor-President of the City Council of Teruel
   3. A member of the Government of Aragon, appointed by the Council of Government
   4. The President of the Provincial Council of Teruel
   5. Two representatives of the Caja de Ahorros and Monte de Piedad de Zaragoza, Aragón, and Rioja.
   6. The Director General of Cultural Heritage of the Government of Aragon
   7. The Vicar General of the Diocese of Teruel and Albarracín
   8. A representative of the City Council of Teruel
   9. A representative of the Provincial Council of Teruel 
   10. The Rector of the Church of San Pedro
   11. The President of the Cathedral Chapter of Teruel
